The Trabant 601, popularly known as the �Trabi,� is one of the most iconic automobiles of the former East Germany. Manufactured for more than 25 years with virtually no changes and with a production run exceeding 2.8 million units, it became the most representative vehicle of the GDR and, following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, a worldwide symbol of the end of the Eastern Bloc.
